The sky is purple
and I miss you.
There are shades of lilac
and cerulean
and violet hovering in the sky
and I miss you.
I miss the you I knew
and all the pages I don’t.
There is red on the horizon
and a few stars have come out
and I miss you.
My breath keeps catching
on moments
where you could have been mine
and I miss you.
Love this part: “I miss the you I knew / and all the pages I don’t.” Fantastic way of playing with a cliche and making it new and interesting.

That’s funny because I changed that line 3 or 4 times before I kept the original. I’m glad you liked it! 🙂

Made me cry. Been that kind of week for me. Yeah. And it’s only Tuesday. 😦

I’m sorry! Writing it was the only thing keeping me from tears. Hope your week gets better. 🙂

Thank you! I was trying to capture the feeling where your breath is taken away unexpectedly. I’m glad you liked it! 🙂
