Stasis

Come to me beaten,
your skin torn
and shattered,
and I will be here.

If your limbs break
under the weight
of your wantings,
walk with every step
you have left,
and I will be here.

When you are tired
of the puzzles
you’re piecing together,
of the fixing the lights
that keep bursting
under your fingers,
reach for my shadow,
and I will reach back.

I have traveled
across an ocean
of stars
and flown jet planes
through the ashes
of my own broken heart,
and I will always be here.

I am a garden statue,
museum-worthy flesh,
sculpted to fit
my body with yours.

My stasis is yours
to banish.
