I walked around this world so vast trying to hear the voice from the past,
but as I headed home
to take these steps alone,
I heard you whispering at last.
This path has pushed me onward
towards “stay” and “do not wander,”
but paths can be wrong,
a flat note in a song,
of journeys I should be fonder.
Loads of ridiculous limericks
never add up to enough sticks
to light this match
or finish this batch
of words that were meant to fix.
Ok. Today’s Blogging U prompt was journey, the form was limerick, and the device was alliteration. I tried serious, literal, funny, but I’m not satisfied. Oh well. Maybe it’s the rhyme since I rarely use it.
