Insane

I am stuck
in the middle
of wants I shouldn’t want,
in a mire
of desire
and sin,
these heavy thoughts
dragging,
pulling my bones apart,
fileting my insides
like slaughterhouse prisons,
and yet,
they beat on,
whispering
what ifs and
what coulds,
drowning the reason
and igniting the insane.

  1. The questions, as they seem to me, are:
    How do you let go?
    DO you let go?
    When do you let go?
Can you let go without really letting go??

All questions I’ve asked myself (and still do on occasion).
A perplexing conundrum to be sure.
