Your words skim my skin,
touching my insides,
reaching for what has vanished.

They still probe like fingers,
digging for purchase,
planting memories like flower gardens.

I’m letting go, giving in
to your will,
to the char, the ash.

Your letters leave me folded,
spent, in cinders,
a molten puddle of desire.

And you do all this
without a touch,
with only words and memory.

It’s is day one of NaPoWriMo month, and I decided to take up the challenge today, so who knows about my commitment. The first prompt is to write a lune, a version of a haiku. I chose the word count style of 5-3-5, and made each stanza a lune. Enjoy!
