I am

even though I’m wrapped
in so many layers,
so much hiding,
but you make me raw,
make me leave it all
on the ground.

You wind your words
around me,
cup me
in your letters,
and rip me open
with your insistence.

I am weak,
my vulnerability
dangling from your hands,
and your words float on my skin,
burning me with their cinders.

I am bare.

You make me shed these coats
covering my pale skin.
You pull off my layers,
dropping them to the ground
as you spread me out
in all the raw beauty
you designed,
all the pieces
left floating around us,
our release,
a vibrant light
revealing everything
I ever was.

Poetry–from my heart to yours. Enjoy!
