Draw

You make me afraid
to be
who I am

because
what if I want
to stay that way?

What if I want
the chains
once they’re biting
into my flesh?

And the sweet pain
and satisfaction
you provide?

The lines and edges
you draw
for me
to follow?

And what
if you take
them away?

Who would I be

without

them?

When you decide
you’re bored,
you’re done?

Then,

I’m two people
inside one body

again.

I’m a broken person
who needs,
who bleeds

you,

for you,

and how will
I heal those
shattered layers
you burrowed through?

How will
I find my lines,
my edges
without you
to draw them?
